Geneva’s E911 will go live in two weeks

The City of Geneva’s transition to E911 is approximately two weeks away. At that time, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department E911 Center will assume all Emergency Dispatching for the City of Geneva Police and Fire Departments. Final testing of equipment, electronics and software are being completed with anticipated “go-live” date for the Geneva Fire Department in the middle of July & the Geneva Police Department by August 1st, 2016. On or about this date all emergency calls will be routed to E911 and be transmitted to their respective agencies.In addition to the capabilities of Ontario County E911 and the new 700 MHz equipment, three locations in the City of Geneva will have walk up Call Boxes for direct communication with E911 when the City of Geneva goes live. The call boxes & video are located at:- GFD Hydrant Hose Company, 79 Geneva Street, Geneva- GFD Hook & Ladder/Nester Hose Company, 207 Genesee Street, Geneva- Geneva Police Department, 255 Exchange Street, GenevaThe Geneva Police has set up a new administrative phone line that will assist in any routine non-emergency police needs at 315.828.6771 and the Geneva Fire Department has also set up a new administrative phone line that will assist in any routine non-emergency fire needs at 315.828.6595.
