It all started in Bristol with a passerby reporting smoke coming from the front of a residence on Tilton Road Saturday evening — around 6:35 pm. Deputies were called to 7821 Tilton Road in the Town of Bristol for the report of a structure fire, which first came in as smoke coming from the home. When the first deputy arrived on scene they entered the rear of the residence to find a vehicle, which prompted a brief search of the home as flames aggressively took over.While no one was at home during the fire — it took more than an hour for personnel to get the fire under control. Bristol Fire along with Cheshire, Ionia, Richmond, Victor and Mendon Fire Departments all assisted at the scene. The owners of the property — Todd and Julie Fox were not home at the time — but arrived as fire crews put the flames out. A dog and two cats were lost in the fire, the home was insured, and the Red Cross was on the scene.An investigation into the fire is ongoing. The home was a total loss.
