Elmira woman falsely reports assault in Seneca Falls

On Sunday at 4:00 am Seneca Falls Police arrested Dakota M. Huffine, 27, of Elmira for obstructing governmental administration, as well as falsely reporting an incident. Huffine allegedly called the Seneca County 911 Center over 20 times to report an incident anonymously, while refusing to cooperate with officers while they were attempting to investigate the assault she claimed happened at 2 Fall Street.

She is also accused of hiding evidence during the investigation, which revealed that she was the anonymous caller. She was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the second degree, as well as obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree.

She was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $2,500 cash bail, or $5,000 secured bond.

She will answer the charges in court on August 24th.
