Canandaigua PD arrests 16-year-old in animal cruelty case

Update: Deputies in Ontario County say that a 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in the animal cruelty case. He was charged with one count of animal cruelty, and was released on appearance tickets. The minor will appear in Canandaigua City Court on August 12. Deputies did not elaborate on the male pictured in the earlier press release, and whether the individual arrested was the individual sought for questioning.

The Canandaigua Police Department is attempting to identify the male in the black t-shirt and hat. He is a Person of Interest related to an animal cruelty case.

On July 11, a male threw a knife at and killed a goose behind the area of 699 South Main Street (commonly referred to as the Old Wegmans Plaza). Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Police Department at (585) 394-3311.
