This week FingerLakes1.com took an exclusive tour of the del Lago Resort & Casino to see the progress at the site in Tyre. While there is still much work to be done, the progress has been significant since the last beam was set into place in April.
There was friction. There were doubters. However, residents in Seneca County are more excited than ever about the future of the region, and the future of Tyre as a community in the heart of the Finger Lakes.
Recently, two major lawsuits that developers at del Lago had been fighting cleared final hurdles and were dismissed. While employees at the resort are not taking anything for granted, there is a focus and energy on the task at hand that remains empowering to those at the facility.
General Manager Jeff Babinski explained that as the team heads into the hiring and training process, they will begin staffing, which is a crucial step in the process – as the del Lago Resort & Casino is about six months from opening. The targeted opening date of the casino, according to Babinski is still February.
Check back this coming week, as Babinski joins Josh Durso on Inside the FLX Thursday, August 4th at 4 pm.
