Ed Sayles, Community Relations Director for Arc of Seneca Cayuga has announced that the agency has received a grant from the John Ben Snow Foundation in the amount of $6,000.
Arc will use this money to enhance programs at Arc’s Spot Light Studio (Formerly F.A.M.E.) The Studio offers opportunities for personal growth through self-expression in the creative arts for people with developmental disabilities in the areas of acting and character development, dance instruction and choreography and creative and fine arts.
Sayles noted “That everyone at Spot Light Studio was very grateful for this generous support provided by the John Ben Snow Foundation and excited about the improvements it will make possible.” The upgrades will include professional stage lighting and sound equipment. Arc is in the midst of a fund raising campaign for the studio, which also includes funding a professional dance studio floor and installing room darkening shades to allow for performances during daytime hours. All of these improvements will bring a major transformation to the look and the utility of Spot Light Studio.
