Rushville man disobeys officer, charged with felony DWI

A Rushville man was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated after failing to obey a lawful order by a police officer on State Route 364 in the Town of Canandaigua.

Ontario County Deputies say that Ian A. Carmichael, 29, was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated after traveling north on State Route 364 — failing to stop as directed by a police officer working a traffic post on State Route 364 for the CMAC concert.

Carmichael submitted to a breath test which revealed he was operating his motor vehicle with a BAC twice the legal limit. He had a prior conviction, which made this a felony charge.

He was issued citations for felony driving while intoxicated and failure to obey a police officer. The charges will be answered at a later date in Canandaigua Town Court, according to authorities.
