Seneca Falls resident charged in domestic incident, victim transported to Strong Memorial Hospital

On Tuesday at 11:02 am officers in Seneca Falls arrested Jose L. Hernandez, 45, of Seneca Falls after an investigation into a domestic incident, where he allegedly assaulted a female victim causing her to be transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Authorities say Hernandez was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree, strangulation in the second degree, aggravated criminal contempt, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, menacing in the second degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and aggravated harassment in the second degree.

Officers say the incident involved Hernandez striking a female victim with a closed fist and objects causing extensive injuries to the female victim. She was transported by North Seneca Ambulance to Geneva General Hospital and then was transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital where she was admitted.

Hernandez was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 insurance bond.

The charges will be answered on August 15, 2016 at 5:30 pm. A stay away order of protection was issued for the victim, who remains hospitalized in Rochester.
