Auburn child caretakers accused of abusing 13-year-old

Three employees at the Cayuga County Centers for Children are facing misdemeanor child-endangerment charges for allegedly restraining, lying on top of and dragging a 13-year-old child in their care, according to state prosecutors tasked with protecting child welfare. The three employees — Dustin Dacey, 25, Michael Heckstall, 36, and Nicholas Guariglia, 30 — are accused pulling the child out of a chair onto the ground, lying on the child and restraining the child for 25 minutes, according to a news release from the New York State Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
