It’s been three years since the last open house at the award winning Seneca Meadows Landfill on route 414. The event, which has drawn more than 2,000 people, is scheduled for Sunday, August 21 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm; and will feature guided tours of the facility, a complimentary chicken barbecue, a comedic juggler, live falcons, and games for the kids.
New to this year’s activities is a 40 minute train ride that will include farm games for children, through a partnership with the Seneca County Farm Bureau and Finger Lakes Railway.
Landfill District Manager, Kyle Black said, “The open house is a great opportunity to meet more of our community; answer their questions, listen to their thoughts and show them what we do to keep the environment safe.”
The open house will be held rain or shine. No registration is required. For more information, call 315-539-5624 or visit www.senecameadows.com.
