The wild weather, which was felt over the weekend throughout the Finger Lakes, left a string of wind and damage reports in its wake. While there were no major injuries that related to the wind damage over the weekend, multiple reports of lightning strikes – involving people – came in throughout the region and state. In Owasco, a man was said to be swimming in his pool when he was struck by lightning.
The region also saw its first significant and soaking rain on Saturday, as the storms moved through the area. While the region didn’t cool off much on Sunday, it was still a very beneficial weekend for farmers, gardeners, and anyone looking to green their lawns a little bit.
Here are some of the reports FingerLakes1.com received over the weekend:
– A barn was destroyed and a massive tree was uprooted in Palmyra Saturday afternoon as heavy thunderstorms ripped through Wayne County. Read more on that from 13Wham News.
