It isn’t very often a shooting is reported in Auburn. However, that’s just what law enforcement was called to deal with during the early-morning hours of Saturday, according to the New York State Police.
One handgun had been recovered. One individual had been shot. No official arrests had been made. State Troopers, as well as Auburn Police were seeking multiple individuals after one person had been shot near the corner of North Fulton St. and Seymour St. in Auburn.
Reports of the shooting came in around 3:20 am. The victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital with injuries that were called ‘non-life threatening’ for the 24-year-old.
A group of five people had been detained shortly after the shooting took place, but no arrests were made, and that group of individuals had been turned over to State Police, according to the Auburn Police Department.
Members of the Auburn Police Department did note that they have reported to multiple issues in recent memory in this area. The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in the investigation.
