It’s a race for hunger that will benefit the House of Concern.
While the race is slated to be an evening, sunset race, it will benefit the House of Concern, which is partnering with Seneca Meadows, Inc. for this weekend’s annual 5K. The race will kick off at 6:30 pm and will feature a live band with Sarah and Joe Mull, and free beer to adult runners from Wagner Brewing.
The race will be held at the Seneca Meadows Wetlands Preserve. The certified race course will provide a unique, flat experience, which typically draws trail runners from across the state and country. Cash prizes will also be awarded to the overall male and female winners – with medals being presented to first, second, and third place winners of all age categories.
“This is one of my favorite events at our wetlands preserve,” said Marcy Neumire, Manager of Community Relations for Seneca Meadows, sponsor of the event. “Our company is so fortunate to partner with the incredible volunteers and runners who are making a difference in our community.”
This year’s volunteers include: the Seneca Falls Volunteer Fire Department, the Seneca County House of Concern, North Seneca Ambulance and many community members. The race coordinator is Jen Stanton.
