The Board of Directors of the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce exciting new developments in Board leadership. The Board of Directors, at its regular meeting on August 23rd, unanimously elected Josh Miller as its new Chairman.
Miller, Vice President and Mortgage Loan Officer for Lyons National Bank, has served in a number of roles on the Chamber Board, including most recently as Vice-Chairman and Chair of the Chamber’s Membership Committee. He has served on the Board since 2012, and has worked with Lyons National Bank since 2002. The position of Chairman was previously held by local real estate developer and tourism professional Bob Stivers, who exited the Chamber Board to serve on the Canal, New York Board of Directors.
The Chamber Board also unanimously endorsed the selection of Mark Varvayanis, Principal at Lakeview Geneva, LLC, as the Board Vice-Chairman. Varvayanis and Lakeview are responsible for the redevelopment of the historic One Franklin Square; a mixed-use development located on Exchange Street in downtown Geneva. Varvayanis has served on the Chamber Board since 2015, and has been a member of its Executive Committee.
Upon his election, Miller appointed Joe Marone, owner of Joe’s Hots in downtown Geneva, to assume Miller’s duties as Membership Chair.
“With the guidance of the Board, and the mission-focus and hard work of the staff, the Chamber has experienced a tremendous period of value delivery to our members and brand development for the organization. I am excited to be a part of the leadership team that will build upon this momentum and showcase the Chamber as an economic development asset to the region,” said Miller.
These leadership developments kick off the annual Board development effort for the Chamber. Any current Chamber member who is interested in a leadership role in the organization should contact Abby Wandell at (315) 789-1776.
