Farmington man accused of strangling wife during domestic incident

On Tuesday, a Farmington man was arrested following an investigation into a domestic incident.

Deputies in Ontario County say that Jorge L. Suarez-Toledo, 23, of Farmington was charged with strangulation in the second degree, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief in the fourth degree following an investigation into a domestic incident.

Toledo allegedly choked his wife, Jennifer Marquez, impeding her ability to breathe — and keeping her from calling 911 on multiple occasions by knocking her phone out of her hand.

Toledo was taken into custody, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and was transported to the Ontario County Jail. He will answer the charges at a later date in Farmington Town Court.
