Search suspended for Interlaken woman who went overboard on Carnival Cruise

The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for the Interlaken woman who went missing from a cruise ship in the Bahamas earlier this week.

Rina Patel, 32, was reported missing Wednesday after going overboard the Carnival Cruise ship Ecstasy about 27 miles southwest of Freeport, Bahamas. The cruise line claims that Patel jumped from the 11th deck of the ship.

Officials with Carnival say that the 32-year-old missing woman, who fell overboard on Wednesday, is a resident of Seneca County.

32-year-old Rina Patel, who has been identified as the individual who fell overboard in the Bahama’s is a resident of Interlaken, according to officials.

Officials also say that Patel went missing, or fell overboard roughly 27 miles southwest of Freeport, located in the Bahamas. Wednesday was the final day of the trip, according to officials with Carnival Cruise Lines.

The Coast Guard says that they are still looking for the missing woman, but that she has not yet been located.
