Yates urges residents to prepare for future disasters

September is designated as Citizen Preparedness Month, and the Yates County Office of Emergency Management wants to prepare residents for when disaster strikes.

“One way we can do that is to have all of our Yates County residents prepared and responsible for their family’s needs,” said Diane Caves, the office’s deputy director. “This will allow government entities and volunteers to deal with the issues at hand in the middle of a disaster.”
