Charred hotel in Farmington leveled after months of discussion and debate

America’s Best Value Inn, an eyesore since it burned down in February, attracted attention Monday as crews began the work of demolishing the building on Route 96 near the Route 332 intersection.

Genesee Environmental began early, preparing the site with safety fencing and other measures before knocking down the building with bulldozers.

The work required a state permit, said town code enforcement officer Jim Morse who is overseeing the process.
