A 19-year-old Geneva woman was struck by a vehicle from behind injuring her leg on Carter Road in the Town of Geneva on September Tuesday.

Deputies in Ontario County say that they are now actively investigating a hit-and-run accident, which occurred on Tuesday around 8 pm.

According to deputies, Ariel Johns, 19, of Geneva was walking southbound along Carter Road south of the Northside Fire Department when she was struck from behind by a light (possibly gray) sedan.

The operator of the vehicle immediately stopped to check on her, but left the scene when she requested an ambulance. The man is being described as a white male, who was wearing khaki shorts at the time of the accident.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office at (585) 394-4560.
