Apparent stabbing at the Villager in Canandaigua

In a press release Saturday morning, the Canandaigua Police Department reported the following:

On September 23, 2016 at approximately 11:30 PM an officer conducting foot patrol in the downtown area observed several people fighting in the parking lot of the V-Pub, which is located at 243 South Main Street. When the officer make contact with the people fighting, one person reported he had been stabbed in the arm.

Several officers responded to the scene, including members of the OCSO and NYSP. Shortly thereafter, another fight erupted inside of the V-Pub, which was suppressed by officers.

The victim is a nineteen-year-old male from Lyons. He was transported to Thompson and then Strong Hospital. His injury is not considered life-threatening.

The investigation is on-going; a knife was recovered from the scene. However, the victim and witnesses did not cooperate with officers and refused to assist in identifying the perpetrator.
