Seneca Falls woman refuses to stop using phone in court, throws device at officer

A Seneca Falls woman was charged in Penn Yan Court after a reported outburst, which she was warned about multiple times.

Officers in Penn Yan say that Jennifer M. Hall, 29, of Seneca Falls was warned several times to abide by court rules and refrain from using her cell phone in open court. After being warned, Hall again used her phone and was asked to exit the court room.

Hall then became upset and threw her cell phone at an officer, striking him in the head. She was charged with two counts of criminal contempt in the second degree, and attempted assault in the third degree.

She was remanded to the Yates County Jail on bail and will appear in Village Court at a later date to answer the charges in Penn Yan.
