Fayette town clerk resigns

Town Clerk Cindy Brown has resigned, effective immediately.

Brown, who took office Jan. 1, cited health reasons for her decision. The Republican was elected to a four-year term last November.

Town officials are seeking candidates interested in filling the position until the November 2017 election. Town Supervisor Cindy Lorenzetti said candidates must apply with the town by Oct. 14.
