Albany upsets #3 Syracuse men’s soccer

No. 3 Syracuse men’s soccer team gave up the go-ahead goal in the 75th minute in a 2-1 setback at Albany on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The Orange are now 8-2-1 overall.

Albany took an early lead in the third minute. The Great Danes (5-3-2) crossed the ball into the box where Syracuse goalkeeper Hendrik Hilpert (Eiterfeld, Germany) blocked it, but couldn’t control the ball. The deflection went to Leo Melgar, who put his shot high in the center of the net for his second goal of the season.
