Marquart retires as Waterloo police chief

He’s the only police chief many village residents remember. Doyle Marquart will retire Oct. 31 after 38 years as police chief of this village of 5,200. His retirement will be recognized at Monday’s Village Board meeting, Marquart’s last board meeting before retiring. A Waterloo native, Marquart worked for the Seneca County Sheriff’s Department before being hired as police chief in 1978.
