Trumansburg man charged with DWI after accident on Arden Road

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on October 7th at 8:08 pm deputies arrested James E. Luoma, 63, of Trumansburg for aggravated driving while intoxicated after a property damage accident, which occurred on Arden Road.

Deputies say the accident occurred the same night around 7:43 pm on Arden Road just south of County Road 143. The investigation determined that Luoma was traveling south on Arden Road when the vehicle drifted off the roadway coming to rest in a ditch on the west side of the road.

Upon further investigation deputies learned that Luoma was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, and failure to maintain lane. He will appear in Covert Town Court on November 21st to answer the charge.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
