Algae toxins not detected in latest treated water tests

No blue-green algae toxins were detected in samples collected Tuesday in the city of Auburn and town of Owasco’s treated water, according to the Cayuga County Health Department. This is the second day in a row that the city of Auburn has shown no detectable levels. The town of Owasco had low but detectable levels of microcystin, a toxin that can be released from dying blue-green algae blooms, at 0.16 micrograms per liter from samples collected on Monday.
