Inmate violates order of protection by making phone calls in Seneca County

An inmate at the Seneca County Correctional Facility has been arraigned on charges related to violating a protective order a 33-year-old female had against him, according to investigators with the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies tell us that on October 21st Jose L. Hernandez, 45, an inmate at the Seneca County Correctional Facility was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. He was charged with two counts after allegedly making two separate phone calls from the facility to the 33-year-old female victim, who had a protective order against him.

The order of protection was issued in Seneca Falls Town Court in August of this year and Hernandez was instructed to have no contact with the victim. He was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charges at a later date.
