Senator Michael Nozzolio has come through for Seneca County once again.
News came down on Monday to the Seneca County Board of Supervisors that Sen. Nozzolio had secured nearly a million dollars of funding for the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery located on Seneca Lake.
The scenic venue has undergone a number of improvements over the years, but this most-recent round of funding, which totals $900,000 will allow a series of capital improvement projects to take place – creating an even better environment.
In a press release Monday the board shared their excitement with the funding secured by the outgoing 54th District Senator. “The Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, already an impressive site, is becoming a destination spot for tourism while maintaining its mission of a fitting resting place for our veterans,” they said in the prepared statement. “Seneca County is honored to host the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery and grateful for this proud achievement of Senator Nozzolio,” the statement concluded.
The board also took that opportunity on Monday to remind those in the region that an event would be held in his honor on Wednesday in Geneva.
