A 26-year-old Farmington man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after he was observed by several witnesses traveling down State Route 96 crossing the center line, driving recklessly.
Deputies say that Aaron Drooby, 26, of Farmington was then observed driving off the shoulder of the roadway striking a mailbox and leaving the scene. He almost struck a light pole in the process and was eventually stopped on Route 96.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated and failed a variety of field sobriety tests. His blood-alcohol content was determined to be .20 percent, which resulted in an aggravated driving while intoxicated charge, too. He was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to keep right, and also for having an open container of alcohol in the car.
He will answer the charges in Victor Village Court at a later date.
