Sodus woman charged with stealing, selling dog in Webster

A Sodus woman is facing a variety of charges after she allegedly stole a dog from a facility she worked at, and then sold the animal for $400 to an individual in Canandaigua.

The incident took place in Webster at TheraVet Acres, where 23-year-old Cassandra Blake, of Sodus, was an employee. Monroe County deputies say that Blake stole the dog and then sold Tessa, the goldendoodle that went missing at the facility, to a family in Canandaigua.

Deputies in Monroe County say that Blake sold the dog to pay for her utility bills. The confession was enough for deputies to charge her with the crime of stealing the dog and then selling the animal. She was arrested within hours and the dog was reunited with it’s owners.
