Wayne County collects massive amount of unused, unwanted drugs

Wayne County law enforcement agencies collected nearly 650 pounds of pharmaceutical medication as part of the national drug take-back day Saturday. Sheriff Barry Virts said the WayneNET law enforcement consortium, which includes municipal police departments, state police and the sheriff’s office, took in 647 pounds of expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs and over-the-counter medication during the event. They were collected at nine sites in the county, with 306 people turning in medicine.
