One airlifted after serious crash in Clifton Springs

A head on crash in Clifton Springs resulted in two Shortsville men being sent to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Deputies say that around 11:21 am on Saturday, deputies and emergency personnel responded to the area of State Route 96 and Bankert Road for the report of a two car accident.

Deputies say that Webster Pearsall, 56, of Shortsville was traveling east on Route 96 and Steven Hurrin, 26, of Shortsville was traveling west when Hurrin was observed traveling off the shoulder of the road and then rebounding across the roadway striking Pearshall’s vehicle head on.

The jaws of life was used to pull Hurrin from the vehicle, who sustained a serious head injury. He was airlifted from the scene by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Pearshall sustained a leg injury and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital via Phelps Ambulance.

The accident is still under investigation.
