Skaneateles school district taking action after high lead levels found in number of outlets

The Skaneateles Central School District is taking immediate action after the latest results of water testing conducted over the past several months showed a number of outlets that contain levels of lead above the maximum allowed. According to a letter to the community from Superintendent Ken Slentz, that action includes immediately disconnecting the water source for those areas that are in classrooms or accessible to students. Then, in those areas, the district will change the faucet or outlet and retest the area.
