The calls keep coming. Pistol-permit holders have been seeking information from the Ontario County Clerk’s Office and showing up at the counter of the Canandaigua office nearly every weekday for almost four years, according to County Clerk Matt Hoose. Hoose describes them as law-abiding citizens who want to know what needs to be done to comply with a piece of the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearm Enhancement Act, better known as the SAFE Act, that was signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in January 2013.
