New Yorkers can apply for heating assistance starting Monday

New York residents can apply for winter heating assistance starting Monday. More than $325 million in Home Energy Assistance Program money is available to help elderly, low-income and moderate-income state residents this winter.

Eligible households can receive a one-time benefit of up to $626. A family of four with an annual household income of up to $53,000 can qualify for the federally funded program.
