Fayette 2017 budget shows slight tax increase

The Town Board approved a tentative 2017 budget — and authorized an override of the state tax cap next year.

The $1.4 million budget contains a slight increase in the tax rate per $1,000 of assessed value. For town property owners in the village of Waterloo, the projected tax rate will be $2.20, up 3 cents from this year. The tax rate for those outside the village is slated to be $4.12, a 2-cent rise.
