Freight rail corridor in Manchester getting on track

The nuts and bolts of a final draft for a freight rail plan are ready for the public eye. On Thursday, planners from Ontario County and local officials will present details of the final draft aimed at creating the Ontario County Rail Corridor.

The project represents a new approach to industrial development and planning for Ontario County, said county Planning Department Director Tom Harvey. To ensure a healthy economy into the future, the rail plan aims to provide shovel-ready sites for businesses to relocate when they outgrow their incubator spaces in the county.
