Hopewell man found guilty of predatory sexual assault

As the jury foreperson Thursday revealed guilty verdicts for each of the eight charges Brian Bagley faced, the Hopewell resident sat motionless at the defendant’s table, staring straight ahead. With the jury’s decision, Bagley, 49, faces 40 years to life in prison for charges that include predatory sexual assault, a class A-II felony.

The charge stems from a decade of abuse that began when Bagley’s victim was 5 years old. The now 16-year-old girl sat surrounded by loved ones in the Ontario County courtroom gallery as the verdicts reached by the jury of 10 men and two women were revealed.
