The Auburn Citizen reports that a pedestrian was struck Saturday evening shortly before 7 pm on the Arterial in Auburn.
The accident was reported at 6:%4 pm and involved an individual in the eastbound lane, who was struck by a vehicle. It was reportedly raining steadily when the accident occurred. The condition and identity of the victim is unknown at this time. The Auburn Fire Department asked for a helicopter for transport.
The accident occurred around Jitz’s Tavern, which is located near North and South Lewis Street.
The identity of the pedestrian has not been released. That person was eventually transported to Upstate University Hospital. Officials in Auburn say that the investigation is ongoing, with the victim still hospitalized. That person suffered serious head and neck injuries, according to police.
