Canandaigua woman caused Saturday morning crash on SR 5 after passing through red light

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Canandaigua woman has been ticketed after causing a crash on State Route 5 around 11:09 am on Saturday.

Deputies say that Kelly Roller, 38, of Canandaigua was traveling west on Route 5 when she passed through a red light at the intersection of Middle Cheshire Road. Roller’s vehicle struck another being operated by Howard Ross, 85, of Canandaigua. Airbags were deployed in the crash, which resulted in a 10-year-old passenger in Roller’s vehicle to be sent to the hospital with hand pain.

Both vehicles were totaled and had to be towed from the scene.
