A narrow wedge of high pressure between weather systems has moved into the Finger Lakes for most of the day Monday. This high pressure has cleared skies across the region for a sunny start to the week. Temperatures are near normal this morning, with lows mostly in the upper 20s. Areas of fog linger, but will gradually burn off this morning.
The extra sunshine will help boost temperatures into the 40s this afternoon. A few places may even flirt with 50 degrees. However, the sun will not last as a large storm system tracks east across Canada. High, thin clouds will work in this afternoon, gradually becoming thicker towards the evening.
