How do you know if the tree-killing hemlock woolly adelgid is going after your Eastern hemlocks? Can you prevent an invasion? AND IF these insects eroding the health of the hemlock are on your trees, what can you do?
Answers are coming Saturday at an event especially geared for landowners. A workshop from 10 a.m. to noon at Naples Village Hall will bring in experts. Sponsored by the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association, the event will feature researchers from Cornell University's New York State Hemlock Initiative. Researchers will explain the ins and outs of these pests and address options property owners can use to protect their hemlocks.
