PHOTOS: Waterloo FD contends with burning car on Tuesday afternoon

The Waterloo Fire Department and Waterloo Police Department both responded to the former Taylor Brown Hospital along Route 5&20 at the border of the village for the report of a vehicle fire.

No official reports have been released yet, but photos from the area show the Waterloo Fire Department putting out a fire on a vehicle that suffered extensive damage. Most of that damage appeared to be contained to the front of the vehicle around the engine. Smoke could be seen from the roadway on 5&20.

Witnesses said that they didn’t even realize anything was happening outside until first responders made it to the scene, despite the fact that the vehicle was only a couple hundred feet from the entrance to multiple offices.
