Prattsburgh native is an Outsider on TV

A man who grew up on the hillsides over Keuka Lake is now part of the cast of a TV show about life in the Kentucky mountains that is filmed in the Pennsylvania ridges.

Ted Williams, who graduated from Prattsburgh Central School in 1983, plays a character in Outsiders, a series on WGN. The second season of the series begins Jan. 24. An Outsiders marathon of the first season will air Jan. 21.

When he was cast for the show, Williams said he was “naive and green as can be,” but now on the Shay Mountain set he feels right at home. “You show up, get dirt in your hair and tattoos and then play around for a while. It’s like being a kid again. You’re out there with your friends. It’s work, but it’s like going to the clubhouse.”
