Yates DA Valerie Gardner seeks re-election

Yates County District Attorney Valerie Gardner announced she will be seeking re-election this November at the Jan. 26 meeting of the Yates County Republican Committee.

In making the announcement, Gardner, a life-long Republican, reviewed the accomplishments of her office over the last three years. “When I ran for District Attorney in 2013, I promised to cut the budget in the DA’s office by $35,000.

In the very first year, I was able to reduce the net county cost of the DA’s office by more than $100,000, and have continued savings for taxpayers while improving the performance of the department.” Gardner also highlighted her 100 percent felony trial conviction rate and 100 percent conviction rate on all felony drug charges brought before the Yates County Court.
