Auburn nanny charged after assaulting child

Members of the Auburn Police Department say that a 27-year-old Auburn woman, who worked as a nanny in Cayuga County has been charged with allegedly assaulting a child.

Kimberly L. Hyde, an Auburn resident, was charged with second-degree assault on Thursday.

The victim was allegedly a relative of Hyde. However, the complain was filed with Child Protective Services. The child had suffered visible injuries, as result of what police are describing as “excessive corporal punishment,” according to the Auburn Citizen.

Further investigation revealed that the injuries came outside Hyde’s work as a nanny. She was remanded to the Cayuga County Jail pending bail.
