Penn Yan woman charged with DWI, resisting arrest, violating open container law

A Penn Yan woman was charged with driving while intoxicated, as well as having an open container in her vehicle, according to the Watkins Glen Police Department after she was stopped in the village.

According to police, she also resisted arrest resulting in an additional charge. Lia J. Shaw, 27, of Penn Yan was arrested on Friday and charged with open container, driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane, speed not reasonable, driving left of pavement markings, resisting arrest, and failure to comply with breath testing measures.

She will answer the charges at a later date.
