Port Byron man accused of selling dangerous drug, calling it a nutritional supplement

A Port Byron has been sentenced for his involvement in a conspiracy that illegally manufactured and sold pro-hormone/designer steroids, according to the United States Department of Justice.

50-year-old Matthew S. Greacen is being accused of selling the product which was marketed as a nutritional supplement when, in fact, it was a dangerous drug. Prosecutors said Greacen was involved in the illegal importation of raw drug powders from China to the Danville, Va., area.

The powders were then shipped to various locations across the country, including to Greacen’s business, Nature’s Chemistry in Skaneateles. The illegal drug contained methasterone, commonly known as Superdrol.
