Deputies investigating Victor attack as possible hate crime, victim speaks out

It’s the latest in what members of the LGBTQ community call a spike in targeted crimes.

In the past few months, gay pride flags have been stolen from several homes in the North Winton Village neighborhood of Rochester. That’s just a neighborhood away over from where pride flags were burned late in the fall. Leaders in the LGBTQ community say they’ve seen at least nine incidents in the past three months. Three “Black Lives Matter” signs were also taken with the flags.
