Yates Legislature approves four-year contract

The Yates County Legislature unanimously approved a four-year contract with the 105 county employees represented by the CSEA last week.

At a brief meeting on Feb. 16, the legislators approved the contract without discussion. District III Legislator Mark Morris of Milo was excused, but all other legislators were present.

Chairman Timothy Dennis said the ratification was a culmination of effort by many people. "There were many new faces at the bargaining table for this contract. At every bargaining session, there was a positive and courteous atmosphere. Each side took the time to listen to and analyze the opinions and positions of the other with an eye toward reaching a fair and reasonable agreement for the betterment of labor relations."
